Application Fields

MIDATIN® PE-050 is a transparent protective overprint varnish designed to improve surface durability and gloss of printed metal packaging components.

Typical applications include:

• Protective overprint varnish for decorated metal sheets used in can manufacturing.
• Surface protection of printed crown corks, ensuring resistance to abrasion during filling, transport, and capping operations.
• Clear protective coating applied over lithographic metal printing to enhance gloss and color depth.
• Final protective varnish layer for beverage closures, metal caps, and small metal packaging components.

The varnish provides a durable transparent film that protects printing inks from mechanical abrasion, handling damage, and environmental exposure.

Processing

Stir well before use

• Thinner: Special Thinner for can coating
• Application: Roller coater
• Curing conditions: 12-15 minutes at 195°C

Storage

In original containers 12 months at a temperature of +5 to +25°C
